DVC Points Charts Released for 2024 Disney Vacation Club released the 2024 point charts last week, and the biggest item of note was that there were no significant changes beyond the dates of the holidays shifting. This is the first time in four years that the points charts have stayed the same, as over the last three years Disney has been slowly increasing the amount of points required for staying in October and November while at the same time lowering the number of points required for summer stays.  Source: Disney Vacation Club website Splash Mountain at Disney World Closing January 23rd  On December 3rd, Walt Disney World announced that the final day of operation for Splash Mountain will be on January 22nd, with the ride permanently closing for good on January 23rd.  There has been no announcement for the final closing date of Splash Mountain at Disneyland Resort, but the ride is expected to close soon since both rides are scheduled to re-open in late 2024 as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.  Source: Walt Disney World website, Theme Park Tourist Direct Pricing Increases across Multiple DVC resorts Disney Vacation Club increased direct pricing for Aulani Disney Vacation Club Villas, Disney's Riviera Resort, and Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to have a base price of $217 per point. Many other sold-out resorts had direct pricing increase by $10 per point: Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort (now $275) Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (now $215) Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (now $250) Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas (now $210) Disney's Beach Club Villas (now $275) Disney's BoardWalk Villas (now $240) Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort (now $165) Disney's Vero Beach Resort (now $150) Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spas went up as well by $5 to $205 per point. The only resorts to not increase were Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and interestingly Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, which is expected to have new units opening in 2024.  While direct prices are increasing, resale prices are dropping due to a large amount of units on the market. Many DVC contracts can be purchased on the resale market for up to $100 per point less than direct pricing.  Source: DVC News RunDisney Reduces Benefit for Volunteers Volunteers for the recent Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend were surprised when they received park tickets that were not valid until after 1:00 p.m. In the past, Disney would mail out full-day park tickets to each volunteer within 60 days after the conclusion of a race. However, this time they were handing them out as they were leaving the event. Source: WDW News Today My DVC Points is a fantastic community of DVC members.
