DVC owners can be evicted from premises under new Florida timeshare law New Florida legislation went into effect on July 1, 2024, that allows management to remove timeshare owners and guests for a wide range of inappropriate conduct including: Illegally possesses or deals in controlled substances Intoxicated, profane, lewd or brawling Indulges in language or conduct which disturbs the peace and comfort of other guests Conduct which injures the reputation, dignity or standing of the establishment Fails to make payment of rent at the agreed-upon time Fails to check out by the agreed-upon time Disney has had issues with being able to remove Disney Vacation Club Members engaging in inappropriate behavior in the past, and this new legislation should allow them to appropriately deal with concerning behaviors. Source: DVC News Jungle Cruise to close for multi-month refurbishment Walt Disney World has announced that the Jungle Cruise attraction will be closing for refurbishment on August 26th. No reopening date has been shared, but Disney's website states that the attraction is scheduled to reopen for Guests before the winter holidays begin. Currently Jungle Cruise is not listed as part of the attractions open for either Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. The expanded area allows guests to tour models of a deluxe studio and one bedroom villa for Disney's Riviera Resort. The center also offers Members and guests a place to relax with light refreshments, seating, and a balcony overlooking Disney Springs. In addition, the Golden Vine House Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center is scheduled to open to the public in Disney’s California Adventure on July 26th. DVC Members will have access to a Members-only preview from 10:30 AM to 6 PM on July 24th and 25th. Members attending will receive a commemorative keepsake and a sweet treat. This area is not expected to be a lounge like the Star View Station Disney Vacation Club Lounge, but will be primarily a sales office. Attendees will be able to learn more about Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings services, including menus and entertainment. Also, attendees will have the unique opportunity to get a special photo with Cinderella's Coach. The event is intended for guests considering a Disney wedding or vow renewal. Capacity is limited and registration is required. DVC Members can register for themselves and up to 4 guests; however all guests must be over the age of 18.
