Grand Floridian direct price increase coming September 12 Disney Vacation Club has indicated that the base price for The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will rise from the current price of $217 per point to $230 per point as of September 12. Current promotional incentives are set to expire on September 11 as well. There has been no indication that other resort prices will increase. While it is unusual for direct contracts to be offered at different prices, currently the Disneyland Hotel is priced at $230 per point as well. Source: DVC News DVC adds Halloween events on both coasts After making its debut in 2022, Disney Vacation Club's Halloween member event is back for 2023. From 2:00pm to 4:00pm on select afternoons, eligible members can visit the Atlantic Dance Hall on Disney's BoardWalk for photos with Disney characters sporting their holiday garb and complimentary holiday treats. Scheduled event dates are:  Monday, September 25 & Tuesday, September 26  Monday, October 9 & Tuesday, October 10 Monday, October 30 & Tuesday, October 31 The event is open only to members who are registered guests at a Disney owned-and-operated resort at Walt Disney World or Disney's Vero Beach Resort. Attendees must also qualify for Membership Extras. An owner and up to 4 additional guests may attend. DVC digital ID card and photo ID must be presented upon arrival.  In addition, DVC has announced a similar event for members at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. The events will be held on October 17 and 24, both Tuesdays, from 3 to 5 pm.  Beginning at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel's Community Hall, members can make "treat stops" at several Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home kiosks scattered throughout property. Along the way, participants can take part in craft projects and pose for pictures with Disney characters. Like the East coast event, members must have a reservation at a Disney owned-and-operated resort in California or a ticket to the evening's Oogie Boogie Bash, and each member may bring up to 4 additional guests for a total party size of 5. Source: DVC News, Disney Vacation Club website Deluxe evening hours coming to Animal Kingdom November 8th For the first time, on Wednesday, November 8th, deluxe evening hours will be offered at Disney's Animal Kingdom instead of either Magic Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios. Extended evening hours are scheduled from 7 PM to 9 PM.  This is likely due to both DHS and MK having hard ticket events starting that week. (Hollywood Studios is offering the Deluxe evening hours in October.) It is expected that evening hours at Epcot and Animal Kingdom may extend through most of November and December.  Source: Disney Tourist Blog Disneyland Haunted Mansion outdoor grounds being redone in 2024 The stately grounds of the Haunted Mansion will expand with a spirited metamorphosis at Disneyland Resort next year. In 2024, the additions will build on the story and lore of the Haunted Mansion and include an expanded outdoor queue to immerse guests in enhanced theming, as well as a new retail shop adjacent to the attraction’s exit. A standalone retail shop will also be added, themed as the carriage house of the mansion, belonging to Madame Leota. Source:  Disney Parks Blog My DVC Points is
